Obituary for Betty Yancey

Betty Charlene Yancey, age 71, of Helenwood departed this life Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was born to the late Fred and Rebecca Buttram.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Denzil Buttram, Harrison James Buttram, D.J. Buttram, Althea Yancey, Geraldine Lowe, Princess Lowe, and Ruby Green; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvis and Bethsheba Yancey.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Yancey; brothers J.R. Buttram and wife Euince, and Glen Buttram and wife Tina; sister-in-law’s, Shiela Buttram, Wilma McGee and husband Delore, Ella Buttram. children, Robin Lynn Yancey, Terry Scott Yancey and wife Wendy, and Toni Lorraine Yancey; grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Husband James, Cody Yancey and wife Savanna, Tamara Coil, Timber Yancey, Makayla Gibson and J.D. Hart, Taylor Losey; great grandchildren, Elijah Smith, Hunter Jace Smith, Zaden Lawson, Bailey Yancey, Lily Yancey, Sophie Coil, and Ethan Coil; special nieces, Doris Kennedy, Nilla Cross, and Veneshia Hord. Many other Nieces, Nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening , July 2, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until time of funeral service at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville. Graveside services will be on Tuesday morning at 9:00 A.M. July 3, 2018 in the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery.
