Obituary for Sandra Charlotte Reed Byrge

Sandra Charlotte Reed Byrge, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norma, Tennessee in 1939, she graduated from Huntsville High School, Huntsville, Tennessee in 1957, and married her high school sweetheart, Paul E. Byrge, on January 18, 1958.

Sandra was most passionate about her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Sandra was a caring friend and a thoughtful neighbor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Edna Reed, of Huntsville, Tennessee.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul E. Byrge, of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Jill Byrge Lee and son-in law, Dickie E. Lee, of Atoka, Tennesse; son, Paul Edward Byrge, II and daughter-in-law, Tracy Allen Byrge, of Meridianville, Alabama, grandchildren Kellie Lee Ewell and grandson-in-law, Joshua Ewell of Meridianville, Alabama; Connor Thomas Lee, of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Ashlyn Nicole Byrge and Kane Allen Byrge of Meridianville, Alabama; great grandchildren, Gage Thomas James Ewell and Sawyer Cade Ewell, of Meridianville, Alabama; brother, Charles E. Reed and sister-in-law, Myrna Johnson Reed, of Park City, Tennessee; sister, Mary Reed Holliman and brother-in-law, Dr. James D. Holliman, of Double Springs, Alabama; sister, Jetta Reed Lloyd and brother-in-law, Marshall Lloyd, of Huntsville, Tennessee ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at Berryhill Funeral Home, 2305 Memorial Parkway, N.W., Huntsville, Alabama 35810, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Matthew D. Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
