Obituary for Violet Dale Melton

Violet Dale Melton age 88, departed this life on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee. She was born April 2, 1929 to the late Charles Vanover and Lucy Hicks Vanover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chester Melton; daughter: Lucille Prater; grandchildren: Shannon Dale Melton, Randolph Joseph Lavigne, Logan Dale King; brothers: Ed Vanover, Ernest Vanover; sisters: Jean Pyle, infant Millie Vanover, Betty Brooks, Dorothy Brock; daughter-in-law: Jane Susan Melton.

She is survived by her children: Jerry Lee Melton and Barbara, Diane Hamilton all of McCreary County, Kentucky, Norma Jean Delisle and husband Mark of Carleton, Michigan, Carol Lavigne and husband Randy, Peggy King and husband Loyd all of Helenwood, Tennessee; (12) grandchildren: Jack, Autumn Skye, Brandy, John, Jessica, Neil, Keila, Yvonne, Jerry, Shawn, Adam, Michael; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren; brother: Leonard Vanover of Florida; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida. Procession will leave at 12:00 noon for graveside service at 1:00 p.m., in the New Liberty Cemetery in McCreary County, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida is in charge of the arrangements for the family of Violet Dale Melton.
