Obituary for Flossie Sue Blankenship

Flossie Sue Blankenship age 72, of Winfield, Tennessee, passed away on Friday Morning, March 31, 2017 at her home. She was born February 19, 1945. She was born in Scott County, Tennessee to the late Burl Ryan and Elvey Stephens Ryan. She was a Member of the Second Bethlehem Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of Deborah Ann, Manford Dwayne and Rubin; son: Walter Robert Blankenship; great grandchild: Logan Bryant; grandparents: Tom and Minnie Stephens; special friend: Cleo Roe.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 41 years, Robert “Mtn.” Blankenship; children: Deborah Ann Trammell Tarter and husband Donald, Manford Dwayne Trammell, Rubin Trammell and wife Tessa, Denise Lay and husband Thomas; (7) grandchildren: Stephanie Rice, Stacie Tarter, Sabrina Denny and husband Cole, Kimberly Trammell, Travis Trammell and wife MaKallia, Destiny Cox and husband Dale, Whitney Lay; (5) great grandchildren: Owen Rice, Luke Rice, Zoey Denny, Molly Bryant, Hallie Cox; (3) step-grandchildren: Brennan Cox, Brettley Cox, Lucas Bryant; brother: Ray Ryan; many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. until time of funeral service at 8:00 P.M., Sunday Evening, April 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with Bro. Charles Webb and Bro. Jeff Chaney officiating. Music will be provided by Gail Bridges. Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday Morning, April 3, 2017 in the Chitwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Tarter, Thomas Lay, Travis Trammell, David Webb, Dale Wilson, Barry Wilson, Dale Cox, Dwayne Trammell and Rubin Trammell.


Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida is in charge of the arrangements for the family of Flossie Sue Blankenship.
